Maintenance Technician – Level II / lll
This position ensures operation of electrical machinery and equipment by completing predictive/preventive maintenance requirements on motors, centrifugal pumps, conveyors and production machines. Technician must follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications as well as troubleshoot skills.
 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned): 
  • Technician will have the ability to assist in diagnostic skills to assist in and repair electrical devices, uses wiring diagrams and schematics, precision measuring and testing equipment.
  • Removes defective parts by LOTO machine and dismantling devices, using hoists, hand and power tools,
  • Knowledge of National Electrical code, State and building codes  
  • Ability to have the range of experience with working on D/C and A/C /low voltage to 460 volt 3 phase.
  • Ability to run conduit and wire devise
  • Ability to work on variable frequency drives and D/C drives
  • Improves downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels. 
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides preventive maintenance to all machinery and handling equipment and provides records as required per machine.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by completing provided training, attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Provides assistance or performs tasks as they become necessary and as directed by Supervision/Management.
  • Other duties as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of a High School diploma. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician/mechanic or like position.
  • Knowledge of the structure and operation of manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge electrical devices. 
  • Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
 
Preferences
  • 5 years or more of experience as a maintenance technician doing electrical work or like position.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Experience with the equipment and processes used to manufacture Heat Shrinkable Tubing or an equivalent plastic industry experience 
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
 
Special Position Requirements
  • This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, and Hearing protection.
  • Must be capable of operating a forklift, and/or other powered material handling devices.
  • Must be able to participate in a Radiation safety program.
  • Up to 5% travel required. Travel may be out of town and overnight.
 
Physical Requirements
  • While performing duties on this job, the employee is required to bend, twist and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • This job will require pushing / pulling of drums, reels, pallet jacks and carts.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders as required.
  • Some filing may be required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

      Pay Range: $25 - $36 per hour, depending on experience
